Burnout Syndrome is a state of emotional, physical, and mental exhaustion caused by excessive and prolonged stress. It occurs when you feel overwhelmed, emotionally drained, and unable to meet constant demands.

Burnout comes from the English "burn" = to burn and "out" = outside, so it means burning from the outside in. This is due to a very heavy workload. It's a kind of mental fatigue. In most cases, it's not related to working hours but rather to work pressure. Some symptoms are more evident: loss of appetite, insomnia, difficulty concentrating, feelings of failure and insecurity.
